I Appreciated so much your Insight on "the Mel Situation"--as I was so Very Disappointed in Mel's actions...and afraid that it might Hurt the cause of Christ.--Seems like a lot of people so Admired Mel for having the Courage to make the Passion Movie--and maybe Some of us were even feeling quite Confident of Mels Salvation--and Now were feeling a "letdown"!..Soo, esp. for ME--your thots in this blog helped me to "Sort things out"!...Be Glad & Thankful that Mel DID have the Decency to make a "REAL Heartfelt Apology:--and to continue to PRAY for TRUE Salvation and a Heart change for Mel Gibson!!--Thanks, Reid, for a Very Good Blog!!!

I must say that this is thought provoking, but even more than that, an understood acknowledgement. Many of us know what it is to be tipsy or drunk. Many of us experience a letting loose of the reigns that normally remind us of consequences, or better yet, sermons we have heard.
I, for one, never battled with addiction, but should have spent more time meditating upon Ephesians 5:18.
This was a very good read.
