  • The Tyranny Of The Frivolous

    January 17th, 2007

Walk in Wisdom – Gleanings from Scripture
    fluff.jpg
Luke 12.13-21 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to
divide the inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge
or arbitrator over you?” And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard
against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his
possessions.” And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man
produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have
nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my
barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
    And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years;
relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is
required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is
the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

  • A Brief Primer on Sin – Part 3

    December 14th, 2006

Walk in Wisdom – Gleanings from Scripture
    primer.jpg
Matt. 18.1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst
of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like
children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles
himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 “Whoever
receives one such child in my name receives me, 6 but whoever causes one of
these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a
great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the
    sea.
