Recently, I heard an interview with theologian Wayne Grudem hosted by Sean Demars on his show: Room for Nuance.
In the course of the interview (which I highly recommend – you can find it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/VB1T2VD8TCo?si=tbtefTvQsWEAPz6c Demars asks Grudem if he has changed his mind on any topics over the years. Grudem noted his shift from Amillennialism to Premillennialism (Thanks to G. E. Ladd) and, his stance on divorce.
The shift in his view on divorce had to do with studying Paul’s language in 1 Cor. 7:15 “But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.” (BSB)
“In such cases” is the phrase he labors to unpack. And that is where this article by him is most helpful. I commend it to you for thought, prayer and reflection. And to consider if we have not done a grave disservice to many by not having a fuller understanding of divorce Biblically.
